About Us

Rosemary – Originally from Cork

rosie•    Qualified Senior Nurse. Trained in North London. Works part-time as Clinical Nurse Manager with the HSE

•    Master of Science degree in Pain Management

•    While working as Intensive Care nurse, I found that patients who were agitated post major surgery responded to gentle stroking on the arm and hand and that their blood pressure and pulse settled. This sparked an interest in massage and I subsequently gained qualifications from the UK vocational training body.

•    Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology – a prerequisite in the UK before attending any massage training. Had to do it, even though I was a highly qualified nurse!

•    Diploma in Full Body Massage

•    Diploma in Aromatherapy

•    Diploma in Indian Head Massage

•    City & Guilds Further Education Teaching Certificate.

City & Guilds Work Place Assessor Trainer Diploma

I moved back to Ireland in 2002 and set up Heir Island Holistics at home between Bandon and Clonakilty. We now have a large client base, are proving very successful and getting referrals from local GPs as well.

We have a family holiday home on Heir Island and plan to move there permanently.  We see clients there at weekends and during summer holidays in our special treatment room set up with views of Roaring Water Bay.

I love cats and have four totally spoilt moggies. I also love making jams and chutneys from free food found growing on the island.
