Are you looking for something a little different for your Hen Weekend? Something that doesn’t involve L Plates, handcuffs and unmentionable accessories! Heir Island Holistics has the answer.
Why not spend the weekend with your Hen Party learning how to give a truly relaxing Indian Head Massage to your friend or partner and then choose one other option for your second day. If you would like to spend a second day on the island why not try a Seaweed Foraging Day with Christine Thery?
Indian Head Massage is a wonderfully relaxing massage based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system using oils such as coconut and sesame. It has been practised in India and Sri Lanka for over a thousand years. We hold a great deal of stress in our head, face, neck and shoulders and massaging these areas can relieve aches and pains, soothe tired muscles and can give a profound feeling of relaxation to the recipient. Indian Head massage can be very beneficial to the facial muscles and skin and has been described as a wholly natural facelift! It can also be a very sensual experience when used on your partner. But it is not all about giving Indian Head massage to a friend or loved one! We will also show you how to give yourself a stress busting and relaxing head massage to ease away your tensions at the end of a hard day.
Seaweed Safari get your wellies on and go searching for edible seaweeds along the shoreline of Heir Island and then learn how to use it in your cooking and for health care and beauty. Seaweed is full of vitamins and is a super food that is readily available on our shores. Christine Thery from Wild Island Seaweeds will show you where to look for the best types, explain their uses, and show you how to cook with them. You can also get to taste some recipes using seaweed as part of your lunch. Christine will also tell you how to use seaweed in your beauty regime, i.e. what to use for seaweed baths. Be prepared to have a lot of fun as you clamber over the seashore looking for nature’s free bounty!
These workshops are also ideal for groups of friends or work colleagues who want to get away for a relaxing weekend. We can also run an Indian Head Massage workshop over one day only.
The workshops are run on Heir Island and self catering accommodation is available for groups of 4 or more. Alternatively, if you want to stay in Skibbereen, Bed & Breakfast is available at the West Cork Hotel at discounted rates for attendees (subject to availability) and also in Baltimore.
